Let us introduce you to High River’s Country Music sweetheart Lyndsay Butler. She grew up in our community, and currently lives in Foothills County – more directly Gladys Ridge. She is a Canadian country music recording artist and songwriter who has recently been accepted into an artist development contest with Alberta Music called Project Wild. She’s the only High Riverite in this compeition and we thought we should rally around her and give her some support. If you’re on social media, head over to follow/like Lyndsay Butler Music.
What is your favourite thing about High River? “That is still feels like a small town as it grows. We know our neighbours and can ask for cup of sugar.”
What do you feel most proud of in your life? “Having the courage to follow my dreams is up there on the list. I did a really empowering life-purge last year that has helped me to make changes and do music full-time.”
What skill would you like to learn (or bucketlist item)? “I’d love to learn to play the drums and also pasture rope and doctor cattle.”
If you could help to change something in High River, what would it be? “I’d help improve the “idea” that High River is a retirement community. It’s more than that. Lets bring in more activities for young families.”
Heads up…coming this fall we will be able to catch Lyndsay on a television series called The Moment.
