Every year we create time and space to host passionate citizens in action-focused conversations about what we want for our community. This year, we welcome Bob Stilger, Co-President of NewStories in Spokane as our guest facilitator. Bob has decades of experience with communities around the world, most recently in Japan helping people rebuild after the 2011 triple disasters. Click Here to Learn More About Bob

The 2016 Community Summit has been designed as a four part experience. Details for each session are outlined below - attend one, some or all - whatever works best for you. If transportation is an issue for you, we can help so let us know!

Session 1: Wednesday, January 13th 6:00 - 9:00 pm

Community Building in Today's World - What, So What and Now What?

Evening with Bob Stilger - Join Bob as he discusses what we are learning internationally about building healthy and resilient communities. Bob will share stories about the values, principles and approaches that are helpful. This will be an inspiring evening of possibility and practical insights to deliver value regardless of your level of community involvement. Coffee & desserts will be provided. 

Session 2: Thursday, January 14th 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Building Our High River: Defining What Matters
Discover the deep connection between community and the quality of life we enjoy in High River. Join a vigorous discussion about what we value in our community now, how we want to see it strengthened and the part we each play in making it real. Learn about the plan to implement 'Vital Signs' as our community measurement tool.
Lunch will be provided.

Session 3: Thursday, January 14th 6:00 - 9:00 pm

Building Our High River: Leading Action
This session is an extension of the morning, allowing those who cannot participate in the daytime to add your voice. We will continue to explore and solidify what matters in our community. We will discuss how we each contribute to what matters and share practical advice about moving ideas to action in High River.
Wine & Cheese will be provided.

Session 4: Friday, January 15th 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Building Our High River: Creating Impact
This day is all about possibility, commitment and action. As we look to 2016, we will explore opportunities and decide the impact we will have. We will also talk about what it truly takes to be a community builder, boldly digging into the messy truth of collaboration, innovation and what it takes from each of us. Lunch will be provided.
